The Governing Board meets formally once a term to discuss the Headteacher’s report and matters raised by the Chief Education Officer. The committees also meet termly and their minutes are reviewed and contribute to the Full Governing Board meeting.

Attendance Record of Governors

Governors have excellent attendance at meetings and we have never cancelled a meeting because it was not "quorum" (the number of Governors needed to ensure that legal decisions can be made).

 

The Core Strategic Function of the Governing Board

The core strategic function of the governing board is

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school, making sure its money is well spent
